Job summary

Tetra Tech in Vancouver, BC is seeking an Intermediate Process Engineer (Mining) to join the Process/Mining group. You will apply metallurgical knowledge to develop process flow sheets, perform PFDs and mass/heat balances, and support front-end studies.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mineral Processing or Chemical Engineering, 6+ years in mineral processing, and experience with MetSim, JKSimMet or Bruno. P.Eng designation is an asset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mineral Processing, Extractive Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering required.
• P.Eng. designation an asset.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in mineral processing and related ore types.
• Experience with metallurgical simulation software (MetSim, JKSimMet, Bruno).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering expertise through project phases including PEA, PFS, FS and detailed design.
• Interpret metallurgical test work results and develop process flow sheets.
• Prepare process calculations, PFDs, heat and material balances and P&IDs.
• Size process equipment and develop equipment specifications.
• Prepare metallurgical simulations and ensure compliance with procedures and standards.
• Travel as needed and participate in continuous professional development.
