Job summary

Matrix Mechanical is seeking a proven mining mechanical leader to drive maintenance excellence across surface and underground operations. You will partner with the General Manager, Mechanical to support field teams, troubleshoot complex equipment, and grow our mechanical work with clients in remote sites.

This leadership role emphasizes hands-on field experience, mentorship of Supervisors and Heavy‑Duty Mechanics, and building strong, reliable teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of supervisory/management experience in mining.
• Experience in both surface and underground mining.
• Strong leadership in remote/rotational environments.
• Proven ability to build and mentor mechanical teams.

Responsibilities

• Support maintenance operations and field teams with the General Manager, Mechanical.
• Provide senior leadership across surface and underground projects.
• Mentor Supervisors, Lead Hands and Heavy‑Duty Mechanics.
• Recruit and train mechanical teams; plan workforce and scheduling.
• Troubleshoot complex equipment, oversee major repairs and reliability improvements.
• Monitor maintenance performance and drive improvements in availability and downtime.
• Support preventative maintenance programs and safety initiatives.
• Attend client meetings and contribute to proposals and growth of mining work.
