Job summary

Elk Valley Resources (EVR) is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee shop and pit maintenance activities in a fast-paced mining setting. The role reports to the Superintendent, Maintenance and emphasizes trades, scheduling, continuous improvement, and staffing to meet company standards.

The successful candidate will possess strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with a proactive approach to problem solving and a passion for technology and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Trade certification, diploma or degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years mining/industrial maintenance experience.
• Experience supervising or leading a team.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Participate in health and safety programs and policies.
• Direct troubleshooting of equipment to determine root cause and remedial action.
• Oversee quality maintenance and repair of mine equipment to improve availability and reliability for production.
• Manage daily and weekly work schedules to ensure on-time and on-budget completion using Short Interval Controls and ensure Preventative Maintenance compliance.
• Supervise contractors and employees, improving performance and conducting evaluations.
• Follow-up on current jobs and assist tradespeople with troubleshooting.
• Assist with the development of the schedule.
• Assist in sourcing and requisitioning maintenance supplies, equipment, and services within budgeted guidelines.
• Maintain vacation schedules using Vacation Allotment guidelines, approving overtime as needed.
• Manage KPIs such as downtime hours, schedule compliance, and labor factor.
