Job summary

Sandvik is seeking a licensed Heavy Duty Mechanic for surface drill equipment in British Columbia. This field-service role involves troubleshooting, repair, and maintaining mechanical and electrical components, with training at customer sites.

Overtime, travel, and a company vehicle are part of the package. You will inspect, diagnose, repair, test, and commission equipment, while contributing to continuous improvement and accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• Trade certification and red seal are assets.
• Experience with mining equipment is an asset.
• Ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics is essential.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues in mining equipment.
• Strong communication and computer literacy required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment, diagnose faults and malfunctions.
• Repair/replace defective parts and systems per scope of work.
• Test equipment for proper operation after repairs.
• Commission new equipment and train at customer sites.
• Maintain records and participate in improvement initiatives.
• Keep up with industry and product developments.

Education

Red seal certification (asset)

3+ years mining equipment experience (asset)

Reading hydraulic/electrical schematics

Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair mining equipment

Strong written and verbal communication

Computer literacy (MS Office)

Valid driver's license and able to travel

Flexible to varied shifts

Legally eligible to work in Canada
