Placements24 is partnering with a prominent mining group to hire a Legal Advisor specializing in Compliance for Kimberley, Northern Cape. You will develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive compliance programs, liaise with regulators, and embed a culture of ethics across the organization.

The ideal candidate holds an LLB and SA admission as Attorney or Advocate, with 4–6 years in legal compliance within mining or heavy industry, and strong knowledge of corporate, environmental, and health and

Qualifications

• LLB or equivalent legal qualification.
• Admitted as an Attorney or Advocate in South Africa.
• 4–6 years in legal compliance, mining preferred.
• Strong knowledge of SA corporate, environmental, and health & safety law.
• Experience developing and implementing compliance frameworks.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive compliance programs.
• Monitor adherence to laws and regulations (env, HSE, governance).
• Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments.
• Provide legal advice on compliance matters to management.
• Investigate breaches and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare regulatory reports and liaise with authorities.
• Deliver compliance training to employees.
• Stay updated on legislative changes and best practices.
