Job summary

WSP in Quebec is seeking a Water Management Team Lead for Mining & Metals to build and lead a professional team focused on mine water management. You will work with multidisciplinary groups to deliver sustainable solutions for complex mine water projects.

The role emphasizes leadership, collaboration, and technical excellence, with opportunities to influence strategy and grow a specialized practice within WSP Canada.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as an engineer, project manager, or people leader within the mining, water management, or a related engineering sector.
  • Previous experience leading teams and managing professionals in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Proven ability to motivate, mentor, and develop talent.
  • Experience collaborating on complex projects involving multiple technical disciplines.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to balance people leadership, operational management, and technical contributions.
  • Fluency in French; bilingualism in French and English is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of regulations and industry best practices related to mine water management in Quebec and across Canada is considered a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, inspire, and develop a team of professionals specializing in mine water management.

  • Support team members in their professional development and career growth objectives.
  • Optimize resource planning and utilization to support project success and business growth.
  • Contribute to strategic projects as a Water Management Engineer, Project Manager, or Project Director.
  • Collaborate with experts in water management, geotechnical engineering, mine tailings, environmental services, and infrastructure to develop integrated solutions.
  • Participate in the development of strategic initiatives and the continued growth of the mine water management practice.
  • Strengthen WSP’s reputation by delivering innovative, sustainable, and client-focused solutions.
