Job summary

Vale Base Metals in Sudbury, Ontario, is seeking a Supervisor, Production for its North Mine. This permanent onsite role operates on a 5/4 rotating days and afternoons schedule, and focuses on leading a team to meet safety, production, and maintenance targets.

You will coach and coordinate crews, monitor performance, manage incidents, support injury management, and ensure reports and handovers are accurate.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 level education or GED equivalency is required.
• Common Core: First Line Underground Mine Supervisor Common Core (770121) or Common Core for First Line Production Supervisor Underground Hard Rock Mining (770120) is preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in an industrial setting.
• Experience working underground is preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Products is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage operations to achieve safe, efficient, and cost-effective production and maintenance targets.
• Promote a Zero Harm culture by ensuring compliance with safety programs, procedures, and risk management practices.
• Monitor production, quality, cost, and capital performance, taking corrective action as needed to meet targets.
• Conduct crew line-ups, communicate risks, manage incident reporting, and participate in investigations.
• Support injury management and employee return-to-work programs in collaboration with healthcare providers.
• Manage workforce performance through training, qualification tracking, coaching, mentoring, discipline, and grievance resolution.
• Coordinate resources, inventories, materials, overtime, and work schedules to support operational requirements.
• Plan, assign, monitor, and continuously improve work execution while ensuring accurate reporting, work order completion, and effective shift handovers.
