Job summary

CGC Inc. is recruiting a Mine Installation Operator for our gypsum plant in Hagersville, Ontario. This permanent, full-time role operates under the Guidance of the Installation Supervisor within the Mine Installation Department to perform daily tasks and support production.

The position offers an hourly wage of $31.48, with potential adjustments based on qualifications and experience. CGC provides a comprehensive benefits package, safety programs, and opportunities for training and relocation

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Manufacturing/mining experience preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Training on the six operator rate positions.
  • Work in the Belt operator position on a 12-hour schedule, including weekends/afternoons.
  • Support and enforce safety rules and RPM initiatives.
  • Cover during mechanical/electrical breakdowns; may start early or stay late on short notice.
  • Maintain or install rail components, dewatering equipment, ventilation brattice and conveyors.
  • Participate in construction of section advances or new development for the Mine Department.
  • Assist in implementing USG Model Programs, Safety Rules, VWIs/JSAs and SOPs.
  • Promote personal safety and enforce safety amongst crew members.

Job description

CGC Inc. is currently recruiting for a Mine Installation Operator for our gypsum plant, based in Hagersville, Ontario.

It's a permanent and full-time position, offering a challenging opportunity for a motivated individual to demonstrate their skills and abilities in a manufacturing operation within a large corporation.

Under the guidance of the Installation Supervisor, the Installation Operator conducts daily operations in one of the tasks requirements within the Mine Installation Department.

Additional responsibilities of the Mine Installation Operator include:
  • Training on the six operator rate positions in the department as skill and ability is gained.
  • Working in the "Belt operator" position, which is a 12 hour schedule that involves weekend and afternoon shifts as required.
  • Supporting and maintaining all rules and procedures related to the Mine Department and it's RPM initiative.
  • Willing to work within the team to ensure there is coverage during mechanical/electrical break down situations to support mine production operations. This may include the possibility of starting early or staying late on short notice as well off shift call time.
  • As needed, maintaining or installing rail components, dewatering equipment, ventilation brattice and conveyor equipment as outlined in the operator rate program.
  • Participating in the construction of section advances or new development for the Mine Department.
  • Assisting in the implementation of USG Model Programs, Safety Rules, VWIs/JSAs and Standard Operating Procedures, as required.
  • Exercising personal safety, promoting and enforcing safety amongst crew members.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma
  • Experience in a manufacturing/mining environment is preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of cutting/welding techniques is preferred or the willingness to utilize the educational assistance program to attain certification
  • Positive attitude, highly motivated and results orientated team player
  • Demonstrates the willingness and ability to work safely both individually and in a team setting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as the ability to operate computers (i.e. Email, Word and Excel).

Hourly wage: $31.48

Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
