Job summary

WSP, a global engineering and professional services firm, is seeking an Environmental Engineer/Geoscientist to join the Mine Water & Environment team. Based in Canada, you will lead and support contaminated site investigations and remediation projects on legacy, abandoned, and operating mine sites, across Canada and internationally.

Qualifications

• A degree in Environmental Engineering, Geoscience, Geology, Geological Engineering, or related discipline.
• Progressive experience in contaminated site investigation and remediation, with exposure to mine sites and complex environmental projects.
• Professional registration or eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer, Professional Geoscientist, or equivalent regulatory body.
• Project management experience involving contaminant characterization, remediation design, budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Strong knowledge of environmental chemistry, geology, contaminant fate and transport, conceptual site model development, and remediation planning.
• Experience developing or reviewing technical specifications, design drawings, quantitative analyses, reports, and graphical materials for remediation projects.
• Experience planning and supporting field programs, with northern or remote project experience considered an asset and a safety-first mindset.
• Ability to guide early-career staff, apply QA/QC, communicate findings clearly, and contribute to proposals and practice growth.

As an Environmental Engineer/Geoscientist with WSP's Mine Water & Environment team, you will help address complex environmental challenges at legacy, abandoned, and operating mine sites in Canada and internationally. Based in British Columbia, Alberta, or Yukon, you will support and lead contaminated sites projects spanning site characterization, permitting, remedial planning, and remediation design.

You will combine technical insight, project coordination, field-program planning, and mentorship to turn complex datasets into practical solutions. Working alongside environmental scientists, engineers, geoscientists, and other specialists, you will help clients manage environmental risk and create safer, more sustainable outcomes for mine-affected lands.

• AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $104,100 - $138,000
• MB & ON: $95,000 - $130,800
• NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $94,100 - $124,900
