Job summary

WSP is seeking an Environmental Engineer/Geoscientist to address complex challenges at legacy and operating mine sites across Canada and internationally. Based in BC, Alberta, or Yukon, you will guide site characterization, permitting, remedial planning, and remediation design while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Engineering, Geoscience, Geology, Geological Engineering, or related discipline.
• Progressive experience in contaminated site investigation and remediation at mine sites.
• Professional registration or eligibility as a PE/PG or applicable regulator.
• Project management experience with contamination characterization, remediation design, budgets, and schedules.
• Strong knowledge of environmental chemistry and contaminant fate and transport.
• Experience drafting technical specs, design drawings, reports, and remediation documents.
• Experience planning field programs, including northern or remote projects.
• Ability to mentor staff and contribute to proposals and growth.

As an Environmental Engineer/Geoscientist with WSP's Mine Water & Environment team, you will help address complex environmental challenges at legacy, abandoned, and operating mine sites in Canada and internationally. Based in British Columbia, Alberta, or Yukon, you will support and lead contaminated sites projects spanning site characterization, permitting, remedial planning, and remediation design.

You will combine technical insight, project coordination, field-program planning, and mentorship to turn complex datasets into practical solutions. Working alongside environmental scientists, engineers, geoscientists, and other specialists, you will help clients manage environmental risk and create safer, more sustainable outcomes for mine-affected lands.

The Skills That Set You Apart

• A degree in Environmental Engineering, Geoscience, Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Progressive experience in contaminated site investigation and remediation, with substantial exposure to mine sites and complex environmental projects.
• Professional registration, or eligibility for registration, as a Professional Engineer, Professional Geoscientist, or with another applicable regulatory body.
• Project management experience involving contaminant characterization, remediation design, mine remediation, budgets, schedules, deliverables, and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Strong knowledge of environmental chemistry, geology, contaminant fate and transport, conceptual site model development, and remediation planning.
• Experience developing or reviewing technical specifications, design drawings, quantitative analyses, technical reports, and graphical materials for remediation projects.
• Experience planning and supporting field programs, with northern or remote project experience considered an asset and a consistent commitment to safe work.
• Ability to guide early-career staff, apply quality assurance and quality control measures, communicate technical findings clearly, and contribute to proposals and practice growth.

• AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $104,100 - $138,000
• MB & ON: $95,000 - $130,800
• NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $94,100 - $124,900
