Job summary

Discovery Kidd in Ontario is seeking a Mine Engineer in Training to join our Kidd Operations team. You will gain hands-on experience across mine design, scheduling, long-term planning, and ground control while supporting practical engineering solutions.

Reporting to the Mine Technical Services Supervisor, you will collaborate with engineering and production staff, assist in meeting production, cost and safety targets, and develop skills toward a professional engineering designation.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mining Engineering from a recognized institution.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience, including co-op or internship placements.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent mining design software.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and critical thinking abilities.
• Experience with Deswik, MineRP, or other mine planning and scheduling systems (asset).
• Familiarity with database management, data analytics, and dashboarding tools (asset).
• Interest or background in electronics, robotics, or instrumentation (asset).

Responsibilities

The Position:

Reporting to the Mine Technical Services Supervisor, the successful candidate will gain valuable hands‑on experience in various aspects of mine engineering and contribute meaningfully to our operational success. This role offers exposure to multiple technical areas, including Mine Design, Scheduling, Long‑Term Planning, Ground Control, and Mine Systems. Compensation and Benefits:

Competitive total compensation package including:
