Job summary

Magna Exteriors in Vaughan, Canada, is seeking a skilled Millwright for maintenance of production equipment including presses and rolling mills. The role requires reading blueprints, hydraulics and pneumatics expertise, and the ability to solve mechanical problems while lifting up to 50 lbs.

Overtime may be required to meet production demands. The ideal candidate has a Millwright certificate and a college or technical school credential or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• Must have Millwright certificate and college/technical training or five years related experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics to determine work procedures.
• Excellent knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical processes.
• Ability to solve practical problems and work with mechanical/maintenance issues.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and read/interpret instructions.

Responsibilities

• Wages: $38 - $40 per hour
• Maintain presses, rolling mills, moulding machines and other production equipment
• Repair and lubricate machines and equipment
• Disassemble machines and move machinery as required
• Assemble and install equipment such as drive shafts, conveyors, etc.
• Assemble machines, welds, rivets or fasten them to foundations or structures
• Operate tool room equipment
• Weld and fabricate required items
• Overtime when required and assist as needed to meet customer demands
• Keep area and equipment organized and clean at shift end
• Communicate issues to supervisor or manager
