Job summary

Magna Exteriors in Canada is seeking a skilled maintenance Millwright to join our Vaughan facility. You will maintain presses, rolling mills, moulding machines and other production equipment, perform repairs and lubrication, and dismantle or move machinery as needed.

The role requires reading blueprints, hydraulics/pneumatics knowledge, problem solving, and the ability to work overtime and communicate issues to supervision.

Qualifications

• Must have Millwright certificate or equivalent trade certification.
• College or technical school certificate, or five years related experience.
• Able to read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
• Excellent knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical processes.
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.

Responsibilities

• Wages: $38 - $40 per hour.
• Maintenance of presses, rolling mills, moulding machines and other production equipment.
• Repair and lubrication of machines and equipment.
• Dismantle machines and move equipment as required.
• Assemble and install equipment such as drive shafts and conveyors.
• Weld, bolt, rivet or fasten components to foundations or structures.
• Operate tool room equipment and perform fabrication tasks.
• Work overtime when required and support customer demands.
• Keep area and equipment clean and organized at shift end.
• Communicate issues/problems to supervisor or manager.
• Good English communication skills; basic math; compute ratio and percent.

Job Responsibilities

Qualifications

• Must have Millwright certificate
• Must have certificate from college or technical school; or five years related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Able to read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
• Excellent knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical processes
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete situations related to mechanical/maintenance issues
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
• Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Desirable Additional Qualifications

(Optional) – Preferred but not required

• Overhead crane license
• Forklift license
• Tier 1 automotive manufacturing experience

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

• Wages: $38 - $40 per hour

• Responsible for repairs and lubrication of machines and other equipment
• Dismantles machines and moves machinery and equipment as required
• Assembles and installs equipment such as drive shafts, conveyors, etc.
• Assembles machines, blots, welds, rivets or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures
• Operates tool room equipment
• Welds and fabricates required items
• Must be able to work overtime when required and willing to help out when necessary as per customer demands
• Must be organized and clean up the area and equipment at the end of the shift
• Must be able to communicate issues/problems to supervisor or manager
• Good English (both written and verbal) communication skills
• Basic Mathematical skills
• Ability to compute ratio and percent
