Job summary

Johnson Electric is seeking a Millwright-Machine Builder in Ancaster, Ontario to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, install, and commission a variety of industrial machinery. The role emphasizes hydraulics, pneumatics, precision mechanical work, and equipment reliability to support safe, efficient manufacturing operations.

You will collaborate with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and contractors, mentoring apprentices while contributing to capital projects and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.
• Millwright certification (Red Seal) preferred; five years of hands-on experience if uncertified.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced mechanical maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on pumps, valves, actuators, motors, gearboxes, drives, and conveyors.
• Install, align, test, and commission stationary machinery and equipment.
• Interpret manuals, schematics, and drawings; suggest improvements when appropriate.
• Coordinate with contractors and oversee maintenance work to meet standards.
• Use CMMS/EAM to document work orders and maintain equipment history.
• Mentor apprentices and junior millwrights.
