Job summary

West Fraser's Blue Ridge Lumber site in Slave Lake, Alberta is seeking a Millwright/Industrial Mechanic to strengthen our maintenance program. You will troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on pumps, conveyors, hydraulic systems, and related equipment, while coordinating with other trades and contractors.

Flexibility for day/night and weekend shifts is preferred. The ideal candidate holds a Journeyperson Millwright certification (or is in 4th year apprentice) and demonstrates strong

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Inter-Provincial or Provincial Journeyperson Millwright certification, or be a Millwright Apprentice in 4th year
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills are essential
• Ability to collaborate with other trades and maintain safety standards
• Willingness to learn and participate in reliability and preventive maintenance programs

Responsibilities

• Maintain pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers, bearings, and hydraulics in manufacturing.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to repair equipment.
• Operate hoisting and lifting devices for installation and repair of machinery.
• Support preventative maintenance programs and document repairs.
• Supervise contractors as needed and manage costs.
