Job summary

Westlake Pipe & Fittings in Vaughan, Canada, is hiring a maintenance technician to support production lines, perform equipment changes, and maintain safe, efficient operations. Strong mechanical aptitude and blueprint reading are essential, with a 433A Millwright certification highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Generate parts requests and complete work orders as assigned.
• Operate grinders, lathes and milling machines to fabricate parts.

Wage $45.56 per hour $1.00 Shift Premium

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Troubleshooting and providing immediate preventative and corrective maintenance support to production lines and facilitating change-over.
• Overhaul and install new equipment.
• Perform facility maintenance and maintain clean and safe work area
• Ensure that PMs are completed in a timely manner and documented accordingly
• Report on work performed and time spent to Maintenance Supervisor
• Generate parts request to ensure adequate inventory
• Generate and complete work orders as assigned
• Perform equipment change-overs and production line set ups.
• Reads blueprints and schematic drawings
• Strong trouble-shooting skills of hydraulic and pneumatic components
• Work with a wide array of precision tools, such as Vernier Calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, gauge blocks, OD tapes
• Work with other trades’ groups and contractors to complete project assignments
• Operates grinder, saw, lathe and milling machines to make customized parts or repairs.
• Fabricates custom parts, fixtures and guarding by means of arc welding, grinding, oxyacetylene cutting.
• Assembles and installs machinery and equipment.
• Follow all company safety policies.
• MS Office, and computer Maintenance management software Computer skills Coverage in the Pipe Plant All other relevant duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• 433A Millwright certificate is required
• 442A Electrician an asset
• PLC programming experience is an asset
• Prior diagnostic /troubleshooting and preventative maintenance experience preferred
• Demonstrated mechanical and technical aptitude
• Ability to follow manufacturers specifications and schematics
• Ability to work on weekends
• Ability to work other shifts and overtime
