Job summary

Westlake Pipe & Fittings in Laval, QC is hiring a Day Shift Warehouse Associate. You will review and process shipping orders, pick and pack, load/unload trailers, and maintain a clean, safe yard and warehouse.

You must have a valid forklift certification, be able to lift up to 50 lb, and communicate in English or French. This role offers competitive pay at CAD 24.40/hour with benefits starting Day 1 and opportunities for training and advancement.

Qualifications

• Certification for forklift operation required.
• Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in English or French.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb (23 kg).
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Review and process shipping orders as directed by the shipping supervisor.
• Prepare customer orders using DSI readers; pick and pack accurately.
• Load and unload flatbed and dry van trailers; stage finished goods.
• Keep warehouse and yard clean, safe and organized; ensure proper labeling and tagging.

Principales responsabilités

• Examiner et traiter les commandes d’expédition attribuées par le superviseur de l’expédition.
• Préparer avec précision les commandes des clients à l’aide de lecteurs DSI.
• Charger et décharger des remorques à plateau ainsi que des remorques fermées.
• Ranger les produits finis dans les emplacements désignés à l’intérieur et à l’extérieur de l’entrepôt.
• Maintenir l’entrepôt et la cour propres, organisés et sécuritaires.
• Construire des emballages, y compris des palettes et des Gaylords.
• Inspecter les emballages et réemballer les produits endommagés au besoin.
• Apposer les étiquettes et codes à barres requis.
• Déposer les matériaux de rebut dans les contenants de recyclage appropriés.
• Participer au programme de récupération du PVC en recyclant les tuyaux brisés et les rebuts de tuyaux.
• Effectuer toutes autres tâches connexes assignées.

Qualifications et compétences requises

• Certification valide de chariot élévateur requise.
• Capacité à lire, écrire, comprendre et communiquer efficacement en français ou en anglais.
• Aptitudes de base en mathématiques (addition, soustraction, multiplication et division).
• Capacité de soulever jusqu’à 50 lb (23 kg).
• Capacité à travailler à l’extérieur dans diverses conditions météorologiques.
• Souci du détail et engagement envers la santé et la sécurité au travail.
• Capacité à travailler de façon autonome ainsi qu’au sein d’une équipe.

Shift Days Wage $24.40 Per hour

Job Requirements

• Review shipping orders as distributed by shipping supervisor.
• Process orders accordingly (i.e. picking orders)
• Ensure that yard and warehouse are organized in a manner that maximizes efficiency, safety and customer order turnaround.
• Put away all finished product from production area (stock stored inside and outside) in the designated warehouse spaces.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Senior Management.
• Construct packaging i.e Skids/Gaylords
• Inspect packaging.
• Repack damaged products.
• Picking orders with DSI guns
• Unloading & loading of flatbeds and dry vans
• Apply labels as required (i.e. barcodes).
• Keep work area clean (i.e. yard, bundle area)
• Place scrap material in designated material bins (i.e. wood, strapping, cardboard)
• Participate in the PVC Recovery program, ensure recycling of, broken pipe scrap pipe
• Ability to work outside

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Lift truck certification required
• Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
