Job summary

ITEK Group in Ontario is seeking a skilled Millwright to support preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability across CNC machinery, motors, cranes and compressors. The role features straight days with a half-day Friday and emphasizes keeping production downtime to a minimum.

The ideal candidate has a valid 433A licence, strong experience in industrial manufacturing, and reads mechanical drawings.

Qualifications

• Valid Industrial Mechanic Millwright licence (433A) required.
• Experience in industrial manufacturing or machining environment.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Experience with preventative maintenance on industrial machinery.
• Knowledge of CNC equipment, motors, overhead cranes and compressors.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and manuals.
• Familiarity with lockout/tagout and safety procedures.
• Good problem-solving, independent and team work.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on industrial equipment and machinery.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues in CNC machinery, motors, cranes and compressors.
• Complete scheduled PMs and inspections to prevent downtime.
• Perform mechanical repairs, adjustments, and component replacements.
• Maintain bearings, gears, drives, pumps and related components.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and restore operation safely.
• Assist with equipment installations and modifications.
• Suggest improvements to reliability and maintenance procedures.
• Keep accurate maintenance records and work orders.
• Follow health and safety procedures including lockout/tagout.
• Collaborate with production and maintenance teams.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled maintenance professional to support the reliability and performance of a diverse range of industrial equipment, including CNC machinery, motors, overhead cranes and compressors. The successful candidate will play an important role in preventative maintenance, equipment troubleshooting and minimizing production downtime while enjoying a work schedule that supports work-life balance.

Shift: Straight days with half-day Fridays!

Daily responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Perform preventative maintenance (PMs) and repairs on industrial manufacturing equipment and machinery.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair mechanical issues involving motors, CNC equipment, overhead cranes and air compressors.
• Complete scheduled maintenance inspections to identify potential equipment failures and prevent unplanned downtime.
• Perform mechanical repairs, adjustments, equipment alignments and component replacements as required.
• Maintain and service mechanical systems, bearings, gearboxes, drives, pumps and other industrial components.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and work efficiently to restore machinery to safe operating condition.
• Assist with equipment installations, modifications and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, maintenance procedures and overall plant performance.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and document completed work orders and preventative maintenance activities.
• Follow all applicable health and safety procedures, including lockout/tagout requirements and safe work practices.
• Collaborate with production and maintenance team members to support efficient manufacturing operations.

Mandatory Requirements:

• Valid Industrial Mechanic Millwright licence (433A).
• Previous experience in an industrial manufacturing or machining environment.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Experience performing preventative maintenance on industrial machinery and equipment.
• Working knowledge of CNC equipment, motors, overhead cranes and compressors.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, equipment manuals and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of industrial safety procedures, including lockout/tagout.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
