Job summary

Labatt Breweries of Canada is seeking an Industrial Mechanic to maintain and repair production equipment at the St. John’s Brewery.

You’ll perform preventive and corrective maintenance, disassemble/reassemble machinery, and support safety and quality standards in a fast-paced brewery setting. The role requires a Millwright license or equivalent, 3+ years of mechanical troubleshooting, and flexibility to work day, afternoon, and night shifts, including overtime and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) license or equivalent experience.
• Machinist/Welder license is an asset.
• Willing to work shift work, overtime, weekends and holidays.
• Minimum 3 years of mechanical and troubleshooting experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on industrial equipment in a production environment.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment, disassemble/reassemble machinery, overhaul gearboxes, replace bearings.
• Maintain a preventative maintenance program for plant equipment.
• Work safely, maintain housekeeping standards and quality checks.
• Participate in work planning using work orders and part staging.

SALARY

The hourly rate for this role is $39.43 per hour.

OVERTIME ELIGIBILITY

This position is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable labour laws and pursuant with collective agreement. Overtime is paid at the legally required rate and may vary based on hours worked beyond the standard schedule.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on industrial equipment in a production environment
• Work as part of a team to troubleshoot and repair equipment, including disassembling and reassembling machinery, overhauling gearboxes, and replacing bearings, etc.
• Maintain a preventative maintenance program for plant equipment
• Perform work in a manner consistent with plant safety, housekeeping standards, and quality checks
• Be part of an effective work planning process that utilizes work orders, planners, and part staging

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) license or other trades with equivalent experience
• Valid license or experience as a Machinist and/or Welder is an asset
• Willing and able to work shift work (days, afternoons and midnights), overtime, weekends, and holidays
• Proven mechanical and troubleshooting skills; Minimum 3 years experience
• Ability to set up and operate all machines common to the trade and ability to operate equipment including lathe, vertical mill, band saw, drill press, etc. Welding experience an asset
• Outstanding work ethic with exceptional discipline, attendance, and safety record
• Willingness to take initiative and ability to work independently with limited supervision
• High energy and initiative, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Computer familiarity and capable of adapting to new computer program
