Job summary

CCC Plastics is seeking an experienced Maintenance Millwright to service and repair equipment across the Colborne plant and packaging buildings. The role requires hydraulics, piping, welding, and electrical troubleshooting knowledge, with on-site work and safety protocols including LOTO.

The successful candidate will manage a preventative maintenance program, support production teams, and help ensure safety, quality, and efficiency in daily operations.

Qualifications

• Certificate of Qualification as Industrial Millwright Mechanic is required.
• 5+ years of relevant trades experience including plumbing, machinery, pipe fitting, mechanical, welding.
• Solid knowledge of federal/provincial environmental and health and safety legislation.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and manuals.
• Strong interpersonal skills and reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a preventative maintenance program for the Colborne facility and its buildings, ensuring compliance with corporate procedures and regulations.
• Support maintenance and production staff to uphold safety, product quality, and efficiency.
• Repair/fabricate mechanical and electrical equipment, including pumps, valves, hoses, etc., to increase productivity.
• Oversee contractors to ensure health and safety and corporate procedures are followed.
• Keep thorough records of inspections using CMMS or other documentation.
• participate in on-call rotations once knowledge of processes is established.
• Attend trainings and meetings as required.
• Follow LOTO procedures to work safely on equipment.

Job description

Reports to: Maintenance Manager, CCC Plastics

CCC is seeking an experienced, motivated, and safety-conscious individual to maintain and repair all equipment associated with the operation of the plant and packaging buildings. The right candidate will be familiar with hydraulics, piping, plumbing, pumps, pneumatics, welding, compressors, water systems, and possess electrical knowledge and a troubleshooting skillset. Tools are provided.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Maintaining a preventative maintenance program and taking corrective action, where necessary, for the Colborne facility, including upkeep of the property and buildings, in compliance with all corporate procedures and government regulatory guidelines.


• Providing support for all personnel involved in maintenance and production at the Colborne facility, ensuring high standards of safety, housekeeping, product quality, internal service, efficiency and cost control that are consistent with corporate objectives.


• Replacing/repairing/fabricating all types of mechanical and/or electrical equipment, providing practical and economical services to increase productivity, including repair/replacement of defective equipment (i.e. pumps, valves, hoses etc).


• Monitoring contractors’ work in compliance with health and safety regulations and corporate procedures.


• Keeping thorough records of all equipment inspections through CMMS and/or other documentation.


• The incumbent would be required to participate in our on-call program once it has been determined that he/she has developed the required knowledge of our processes.


• Participate in all training and meetings as required.


• Work safely while working on equipment by following LOTO procedures.

Requirements:

• Certificate of Qualification as an Industrial Millwright Mechanic.


• Holding a Certificate of Qualification as both a Millwright and an Electrician is considered an asset but is not a requirement.


• 5+ years of work-related experience, preferably including the following trades: plumbing; machinery; pipe fitting; mechanical; welding.


• Strong knowledge of federal/provincial environmental, and health and safety legislation.


• Proven mechanical aptitude.


• Ability to interpret technical specifications and manuals.


• Strong interpersonal skills.


• Attendance and punctuality.
