Job summary

AWFI, a Canadian custom millwork and architectural woodwork firm in the Toronto area, is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team. The role focuses on preparing precise cost estimates by analyzing drawings, specs, and client requirements to ensure profitability from concept to completion.

This on-site position requires reading blueprints, material takeoffs, and coordinating with suppliers and project teams to deliver competitive proposals and accurate budgets.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-5 years of estimating experience in architectural millwork or related trades.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong knowledge of millwork materials and fabrication methods.
• Proficiency in Excel/Word and estimating software (Innergy).
• Analytical, organized and with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate, detailed cost estimates for millwork construction projects.
• Analyze drawings and specifications to determine scope, materials, and costs.
• Calculate material, labour and time costs for woodworking and cabinetry.
• Create takeoffs and labour estimates per project specs.
• Use estimating software to streamline processes and develop proposals.
