Job summary

Envy Consulting Group, in the Greater Toronto Area, seeks an experienced Construction Estimator specializing in finishing carpentry, doors, frames, hardware, and millwork. The role covers tender review through award, with involvement in strategy and process improvements.

You will work with general contractors, suppliers, and project teams on high-rise, commercial, and institutional projects, ensuring profitable bids and accurate handovers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction estimating experience, preferably with a specialized subcontractor.
• Direct experience estimating doors, frames, hardware, finishing carpentry, trim or millwork.
• Experience preparing and submitting competitive construction tenders.
• Experience on at least one publicly tendered ICI project submission with scope docs and bonding.
• Ability to read drawings, specs, and technical docs with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates for finishing carpentry, doors, frames, hardware, and millwork.
• Review drawings, specs, door schedules, hardware sets to determine project scope.
• Takeoffs for materials and labour using Bluebeam Revu and estimating tools.
• Develop competitive labour estimates using productivity benchmarks and rates.
• Source and negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Prepare bid submissions with pricing, scope letters, exclusions, and bonding docs.
• Manage tender addenda and RFIs throughout bidding process.
• Support change orders pricing and post-award discussions.
