Job summary

First Choice Millwork is seeking a detail-oriented estimator to prepare project estimates and support Project Managers in our Calgary office. The role emphasizes estimating, with occasional coordination and site visits.

You will review drawings, source pricing, assemble package estimates and help move projects forward by coordinating documents, RFIs, changes and handovers. Calgary office environment with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction estimating or commercial millwork preferred.
• Ability to read architectural drawings and perform material takeoffs.
• Strong organizational skills and accuracy.
• Proficient with Excel; willing to learn estimating software such as Bluebeam or Innergy.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings and prepare takeoffs and estimates.
• Obtain supplier pricing and identify cost issues.
• Prepare estimate packages and assist with project handovers.

Commercial Millwork Estimator / Project Support

First Choice Millwork is an established Calgary commercial millwork manufacturer seeking a detail-oriented estimator to prepare project estimates and provide support to our Project Managers.

This full-time, Calgary office-based role focuses primarily on estimating, with project coordination support and occasional job-site visits.

What You’ll Do

• Review drawings and specifications and prepare project takeoffs and estimates.
• Obtain supplier and subcontractor pricing and identify potential scope or cost issues.
• Prepare estimate packages and assist with project handovers.
• Coordinate project documents, approvals, RFIs and change orders.
• Help track project schedules, costs and outstanding items.
• Work with project managers, production, suppliers and clients to keep projects moving.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in construction estimating or commercial millwork is preferred.
• Ability to read architectural drawings, complete material takeoffs and work confidently with numbers.
• Strong organization, accuracy and follow-through.
• Strong computer skills, proficiency with Excel, and confidence learning and using estimating software. Experience with Innergy, Bluebeam or similar software is an asset.
• Clear communication skills and a willingness to learn.
• Relevant education or trade experience is an asset.
