Job summary

Four Daughters Millwork LLC is seeking a skilled Millwork CAD Drafter to produce precise shop and production drawings for custom millwork projects in Kingston, Ontario. The role emphasizes practical knowledge of how pieces are built, assembled, and installed, with training available for the right candidate.

Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential; SolidWorks or other 3D CAD tools are a plus. You will collaborate with project managers and production teams to ensure accuracy and manufacturability

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certificate in drafting, CAD, engineering technology, architecture, or related discipline.
• 2-3 years of professional CAD drafting experience.
• Architectural millwork experience is desirable but not required for strong CAD proficiency and mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Create accurate and detailed shop and production drawings for custom millwork projects.
• Develop drawings using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks from architectural plans, specifications, sketches, field measurements, and project information.
• Translate architectural design intent into practical, buildable millwork components.
• Detail dimensions, materials, hardware, fastening methods, clearances, assemblies, and installation requirements.
• Review architectural drawings, specifications, redlines, and field information to identify conflicts or missing details.
• Revise drawings based on project changes, internal reviews, field conditions, and production feedback.
• Check drawings for dimensional accuracy, fit, tolerances, and constructability before release.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Production, Purchasing, and other team members to resolve technical questions.
• Support the development of as-built drawings and project documentation.
• Learn and apply company standards for millwork construction, materials, hardware, fabrication, and installation.
