Job summary

Qualicare Edmonton East is hiring Health Care Aides for Millwoods and surrounding Edmonton area on a casual part-time basis. You will support clients at home with personal care, meals, light housekeeping, medication assistance, and companionship, following individualized care plans.

Qualifications

• Health Care Aide Certificate OR a foreign-trained nursing degree OR be a current nursing student.
• Active Alberta HCA Directory registration or ability to register.
• CPR and First Aid certificates or willingness to obtain them.
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable car.
• A kind heart and desire to help others.

Responsibilities

• Helping with personal care like bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Preparing meals and helping with light cleaning.
• Assisting with medication administration.
• Accompaniment on errands or on appointments.
• Providing friendly companionship and conversation.
• Supporting clients as they move around safely.
• Following a care plan and documenting care.
