Job summary

Gowest Gold Ltd. in Timmins, Ontario, is seeking a Mill Electrical Lead Hand to coordinate electrical maintenance in the processing plant.

You will lead electricians and apprentices, ensuring safe, reliable operation and driving maintenance planning and reliability enhancements. The role reports to the Mill Maintenance General Foreman and requires 5+ years of mining electrical experience, 2+ years in a lead capacity, and strong knowledge of MCCs, VFDs, PLCs, and control systems.

Qualifications

Minimum five years of progressive electrical maintenance experience, preferably in mining.
Minimum two years of Lead Hand or crew lead experience.
Knowledge of MCCs, VFDs, power distribution and industrial control systems.
Strong understanding of electrical codes, safety standards, and lockout/tagout.
Ability to read electrical drawings and technical manuals.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and prioritize daily work for electricians and apprentices.
Provide technical guidance for troubleshooting and repairs.
Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems in the processing plant.
Troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, and control system issues to minimize downtime.
Maintain motors, MCCs, VFDs, PLCs, conveyors, and other plant equipment.
Ensure safety and compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
Mentor apprentices and support maintenance planning and shutdowns.
Communicate updates to supervisors and other departments.
