Job summary

Gowest Gold Ltd. seeks a Mill Mechanical Lead Hand to coordinate mechanical maintenance of the processing plant at the Redstone Site, southeast of Timmins.

You will provide technical guidance to millwrights and apprentices to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, and related equipment. The role emphasizes leading maintenance activities, mentoring junior staff, and supporting planned shutdowns and capital projects while upholding a strong safety culture at

Qualifications

• Ontario Provincial Certificate of Qualification as an Industrial Mechanic Millwright (433A) preferred or Interprovincial Red Seal.
• Minimum five years of progressive mechanical maintenance experience, preferably in mining/mineral processing.
• Minimum two years in a Lead Hand or crew lead capacity.
• Strong knowledge of industrial mechanical systems and maintenance practices.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily work for millwrights and apprentices based on operations and maintenance needs.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support for mechanical tasks.
• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair plant mechanical systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues to minimize downtime and support production targets.
• Review work orders and maintenance records accurately and promptly.
• Mentor and develop apprentices and junior mechanics.
• Promote safety and ensure compliance with lockout/tagout procedures.
• Support scheduled maintenance, shutdowns, and capital projects.
