Island Health’s Department of Midwifery: Job Opportunity

Island Health’s Department of Midwifery is seeking a full-time Registered Midwife to join a team of seven other Registered Midwives at the Comox Valley Hospital. The midwives are well-integrated members of a multi-disciplinary perinatal care team.

Ideal Candidate: A team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills, committed to supporting clients both within CVH and in community birth settings. The candidate should ideally plan to work in a team call model with other local midwives, carrying a caseload of approximately 30 courses of care per year.

Practice Requirements: Midwives in B.C. are required to practice in both home and hospital settings. They are independent practitioners with their own community practices and have admitting privileges at Comox Valley Hospital.
