Job summary

The Embassy in Vancouver is seeking a Mid Lighting Artist to light, render, and perform moderate-level compositing on our live-action, animation, and visual effects projects. You will work under supervision and contribute to shots from initial lighting through to final quality, ensuring consistency with project direction.

Candidates should have 3+ years of lighting experience in film/TV/commercials, proficiency with Houdini and Nuke, strong organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Lighting experience in commercials, film, or TV.
  • Skilled knowledge of Houdini and Nuke.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Ability to take direction positively and work well within a team.
  • Strong understanding of multiple aspects of the VFX pipeline.
  • Good understanding of colour/lighting.
  • Good understanding of physically plausible rendering.
  • Understanding of rendering efficiency, providing assets to effectively work within the different shot requirements.
  • Lookdev experience is a bonus.

About You

The Lighting Artist can independently light, render, and do moderate-level compositing of very complex shots, needing only initial direction and guidance from their supervisors. They are good communicators who can give and receive feedback and apply it to their work. They will accomplish project-specific tasks and be responsible for maintaining a high-level overview of the status and quality of their progress. They possess strong expert knowledge of lighting skills needed to accomplish the task.
