ICON Creative Studio in Vancouver, BC, is seeking a Junior Lighting / Compositing Artist to join the Lighting, Rendering & Compositing team. You will focus on lighting, rendering, and compositing shots under leads and supervisors, helping bring 3D scenes to life in a fast-paced production.

This role is ideal for someone eager to deepen skills in lighting and compositing, collaborating with Art Directors and the team to ensure visual continuity and high-quality results.

Qualifications

• Basic experience with Maya and Arnold.
• Familiarity with Nuke or other compositing software is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to take feedback.
• A collaborative mindset and strong communication skills.
• Understanding of lighting fundamentals and storytelling through light.

Responsibilities

• Light, render, and composite shots through to approval using Maya, Arnold, and Nuke.
• Modify and enhance existing light setups to support storytelling and scene continuity.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure consistency across shots and sequences.
• Work closely with Art Directors and Supervisors to match visual direction.
• Tune lighting passes in compositing to improve image quality.
• Meet assigned shot quotas and deadlines.
• Communicate progress and issues with Production and supervisors.
• Seek feedback and contribute to a collaborative, solutions-oriented team.
• Identify technical issues and relay them to the appropriate team members.
• Familiarize with studio pipeline, tools, and workflows to optimize efficiency.
• Be comfortable with occasional overtime to meet deadlines.

You'll focus on lighting, rendering, and compositing shots with guidance from leads and supervisors. This is a Union position and the terms and conditions of employment are covered by a collective agreement.
