Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer for the Port Elgin location to deliver engineering services on nuclear power plant projects. You will develop practical solutions, prepare calculations and drawings, and coordinate with procurement, manufacturing, installation and commissioning teams.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in mechanical/chemical/nuclear engineering and 4+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, chemical, nuclear engineering or related field.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer in Ontario, or eligibility to obtain registration, preferred.
• Min 4 years of relevant mechanical/process/design experience in an industrial environment, nuclear experience preferred.
• Experience preparing/reviewing deliverables: calculations, specs, drawings, BOMs, test procedures or design reports.
• Experience supporting procurement, vendor coordination, manufacturing, installation, testing or commissioning.
• Understanding of codes, standards, regulatory requirements and QA practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop practical engineering solutions for modifications to nuclear and conventional systems, structures and components.
• Prepare and review engineering deliverables including calculations, specifications, drawings, BOMs, test procedures and design reports.
• Support procurement and vendor coordination; assist with manufacturing, installation, testing and commissioning.
• Coordinate work scopes, monitor progress and report risks/issues to management.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and interface with clients, suppliers, and other disciplines.
