Job summary

Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL) is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist I for the Microbiology department at Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge. You will perform daily processing, testing, results analysis and reporting of diagnostic samples to support accurate patient diagnoses.

Preferred candidates have an accredited MLT program and current registration with CMLTA, plus 1–3 years microbiology experience in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program.
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
• Recent experience (within the last 1-3 years) in Microbiology, in a medium sized hospital laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Daily processing, testing, results analysis and reporting of diagnostic samples within the laboratory department.
• Perform a variety of routine and specialized procedures in processing of specimens used in diagnosis, treatment and research.
