Job summary

Pomerleau is seeking a Civil Engineering Technology technician to support the development of construction methods and temporary works plans. You will collaborate with design and construction teams on diverse projects in Canada, delivering clear drawings and phased plans.

You will translate complex processes into practical details, contributing to design, fabrication, and modeling efforts while ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.

Qualifications

• Diploma/DEC in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent.
• Experience in modeling, fabrication or construction incl. temporary works.
• Experience with non-standard structures an asset.
• Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD, Civil 3D; Revit is an asset.

Under the supervision of the Methods and Temporary Works Engineer, the successful candidate will support the coordination, development, and drafting of construction methods and temporary works plans. Working within a dynamic, multidisciplinary team, they will collaborate closely with both design and construction teams throughout project execution. Projects will be diverse, ranging from medium- to large-scale undertakings

What you will do

• Participate, alongside Methods Engineers and in collaboration with the Preconstruction Team, in defining the overall construction methods to be implemented on site.
• Produce drawings and plans for temporary wood and steel structures.
• Develop design and fabrication details.
• Prepare site logistics and construction phasing plans.
• Produce phasing plans, including temporary works utilization cycles, workforce and equipment planning, and other construction methodology drawings.
• Ensure the quality of all produced documents and adherence to deliverable production schedules.
• Collaborate with engineers in the development of technical solutions.
• Perform other related tasks associated with modeling and drawing production.

This role could be for you if you have

• Diploma of College Studies (DCS/DEC) in Civil Engineering Technology, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
• Experience in modeling, fabrication, and/or construction, including temporary works, bridge and civil structures, or other civil engineering projects.
• Experience with non-standard structures involving various types of materials is considered an asset.
• Proficiency in one or more of the following software applications: Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit is considered an asset.
• Proficiency in English is considered an asset.
• Strong ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to analyze and synthesize complex processes.
• Demonstrated versatility, autonomy, curiosity, and resourcefulness.
• Interest in emerging technologies and innovative solutions.
