Job summary

Bombardier Transportation GmbH in Quebec seeks a skilled engineer to write and revise assembly instructions for aircraft components, interpret engineering drawings, and develop manufacturing strategies. You will create tools and coordinate with Engineering, Logistics, and Quality to implement changes and optimize production.

The role calls for reading technical drawings, 3D visualization and strong analytical abilities, plus proficiency in Catia, AutoCad, Enovia, and SAP, with fluency in French

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical, Avionics, Electrical, Industrial, Electromechanics or Aerospace Manufacturing or related field.
• Proficient reading of technical drawings with 3D visualization and analytical skills.
• MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with CAD/ERP tools such as Catia, AutoCad, Enovia, SAP.

Responsibilities

• Write and revise assembly instruction guides for manufacturing or assembly of aircraft components.
• Interpret, verify and approve drawings and other engineering documents.
• Develop assembly and manufacturing strategies for aircraft components.
• Develop tools to manufacture or assemble components considering geometric tolerancing.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Parts Logistics, Quality and Production to harmonize changes.
• Coordinate problem solving with other support departments for production
• Contribute to R&D projects and production process improvements.
• Support Central Methods team and update SAP analysis as needed.
• Define labor, tools, layout, ergonomics, safety and equipment requirements.

What are your contributions to the team?

• Write and revise assembly instruction guides or manufacturing instruction guides for the manufacturing or assembly of aircraft components.
• Interpret, verify and approve drawings and other engineering documents.
• Develop assembly and manufacturing strategies for aircraft components.
• Develop necessary tools to manufacture or assemble aircraft components by taking into account established geometric tolerancing.
• Harmonize the implementation of engineering changes or assembly strategies by working in close collaboration with Engineering, Parts Logistics, Quality and Production.
• Participate actively in production support by coordinating problem solving with other support departments.
• Keep abreast of best ways to enhance assembly and manufacturing strategies and participate in research and development projects.
• Support the Central Methods team during the realization of their projects.
• Update of the Methods documentation tree structure, SAP analysis, identify needs and optimize production.
• Establish the requirements for labor, tools, assembly, layout plan, ergonomics and health/safety, tools and production equipment according to the optimal methodology.
• Participate in the development and optimization of processes related to the methods function.

How to thrive in this role?

• You have a college or university diploma in Mechanical, Avionics, Electrical, Industrial, Electromechanics Engineering, Aerospace Manufacturing or in a relevant area.
• You are able to read technical drawings and have a good visualization in 3D with good analytical skills.
• You have a good logical mechanical skill.
• You are proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
• You can work with computer-based software such as Catia, AutoCad, Enovia, etc.
• You can work with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software such as SAP, etc.
• You are an excellent team player, are perseverant and have a good judgement.
• You have a good command of French, written and spoken and have a good knowledge of English.
