Job summary

Bombardier is seeking a Manufacturing/Methods Engineer to design and optimize assembly processes for aircraft components. You will read technical drawings, develop tools, and coordinate changes with Engineering, Quality and Production. Proficiency in Catia/AutoCad/Enovia and SAP is preferred, as well as fluent French and English.

You will contribute to process improvements, ensure ergonomic and safety considerations, and manage short to mid-length projects within a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in a relevant field from a college/university.
• Ability to read technical drawings and visualize in 3D.
• Proficiency in MS Office and ERP software (SAP).
• Experience with Catia/AutoCad/Enovia preferred.
• Fluent (French/English) communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Write and revise assembly/manufacturing instructions for aircraft components.
• Interpret and approve drawings and engineering documents.
• Develop assembly/manufacturing strategies and tooling.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality and Production to implement changes.
• Support production with problem solving and process optimization.
• Update Methods documentation, SAP analysis, and process improvement.
• Lead short/medium projects and ensure safety and ergonomics compliance.

What are your contributions to the team?

• Write and revise assembly instruction guides or manufacturing instruction guides for the manufacturing or assembly of aircraft components;
• Interpret, verify and approve drawings and other engineering documents;
• Develop assembly and manufacturing strategies for aircraft components;
• Develop necessary tools to manufacture or assemble aircraft components by taking into account established geometric tolerancing;
• Harmonize the implementation of engineering changes or assembly strategies by working in close collaboration with Engineering, Parts Logistics, Quality and Production;
• Participate actively in production support by coordinating problem solving with other support departments;
• Keep abreast of best ways to enhance assembly and manufacturing strategies and participate in research and development projects;
• Support the Central Methods team during the realization of their projects;
• Update of the Methods documentation tree structure, SAP analysis, identify needs and optimize production;
• Eliminate non-value added;
• Establish the requirements for labor, tools, assembly, layout plan, ergonomics and health/safety, tools and production equipment according to the optimal methodology;
• Participate in the development and optimization of processes related to the methods function;
• Audit certain processes to validate their proper functioning and provide certain recommendations;
• Manage projects of short and/or medium duration and complexity.

How to thrive in this role?

• You have a college or university diploma in Mechanical,Avionics, Electrical, Industrial, Electromechanics Engineering, Aerospace Manufacturing or in a relevant area;
• You are able to read technical drawings and have a good visualization in 3D with good analytical skills;
• You have a good logical mechanical skill;
• You are proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
• You can work with computer-based software such as Catia, AutoCad, Enovia, etc.;
• You can work with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software such as SAP, etc.;
• You are an excellent team player, are perseverant and have a good judgement;
• You have a good command of French, written and spoken and have a good knowledge of English.
