Job summary

AAA Canada Inc. in Dorval (QC) is seeking a disciplined engineer to lead assembly and manufacturing strategies for aircraft components.

The role involves interpreting engineering drawings, defining tools, and coordinating changes across engineering, logistics, quality, and production. You hold a college or university diploma in mechanical, avionics, or electromechanical engineering or have 5+ years in aeronautics, with CAD and ERP experience, and you communicate fluently in French and English.

Qualifications

  • College or university diploma in mechanical, avionics, electrical, industrial, or electromechanical engineering, or aeronautical manufacturing, or 5+ years in related field.
  • Able to read technical drawings with strong 3D visualization and analytical skills.
  • Strong logical thinking and mechanical aptitude.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiar with Catia, AutoCad, Enovia.
  • Familiar with BAAN or SAP ERP systems.
  • Basic knowledge of continuous improvement project management.
  • Fluent in French; good knowledge of English.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and revise assembly manuals or routings for aircraft components.
  • Interpret drawings from the engineering department.
  • Establish assembly and manufacturing strategies for aircraft components.
  • Define tools required to meet required geometric tolerances.
  • Coordinate implementation of engineering changes with engineering, logistics, quality, and production.
  • Support production by coordinating resolution of technical issues with other services.
  • Identify opportunities to improve assembly and manufacturing strategies; participate in R&D projects.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, validate, and revise assembly manuals or manufacturing routings intended for the manufacturing or assembly of aircraft components;
  • Interpret drawings and other documents originating from the engineering department;
  • Establish assembly and manufacturing strategies for aircraft components;
  • Define the tools required for the manufacturing or assembly of aircraft components to ensure the required geometric tolerances;
  • Coordinate the implementation of engineering changes or assembly strategy updates by working closely with engineering, material logistics, quality, and production departments;
  • Take an active role in production support by coordinating the resolution of technical issues with other support services;
  • Identify opportunities to improve assembly and manufacturing strategies and participate in research and development projects.
Required Profile
  • You hold a college or university diploma in mechanical, avionics, electrical, industrial, or electromechanical engineering, in aeronautical manufacturing, or have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field;
  • You are comfortable reading technical drawings and have strong 3D visualization skills and analytical abilities;
  • You demonstrate strong logical thinking and mechanical aptitude;
  • You are proficient with MS Office software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint);
  • You are familiar with computer-aided design software such as Catia, AutoCad, Enovia;
  • You are familiar with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as BAAN, SAP;
  • You have basic knowledge of continuous improvement project management;
  • You are a strong team player, recognized for your perseverance and sound judgment;
  • You are fluent in French, both spoken and written, and have a good knowledge of English.
