Job summary

Russel Metals in Cambridge, ON is seeking a motivated Receiver for the Days shift (Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm). This full-time permanent role reports to Production Manager and requires pre-employment medical and drug evaluation due to safety-sensitive environment.

You will schedule inbound loads, verify PO against material, manage tagging and stock checks, coordinate unloading, and provide timely information to sales, purchasing and management.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills; ability to work with multiple teams.
• Able to read and follow printed and verbal instructions.
• Proven problem-solving skills.
• Able to use computer terminal and related functions; barcoding system with handheld scanners.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Metals industry product knowledge is preferable; Metalware knowledge is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Schedule inbound truck loads by product type, weight, warehouse and outdoor locations.
• Verify purchase orders against incoming material and releases.
• Verify material matches incoming paperwork and note defects/deficiencies.
• Print and sort barcoded tags per material description, item codes, heat numbers, PO numbers, bills of lading.
• Coordinate unloading sequence and truck movement within warehouse and outdoor locations; tag steel products on ground or on trailers.
• Scan, file and retrieve mill test reports; use imaging system.
• Perform cycle counts and stock checks.
• Provide accurate and timely information to sales, purchasing, production and management teams.
• Other administrative duties as required.
