Job summary

Safran Landing Systems in Mirabel is seeking a metallurgy operator to perform various metallurgical operations on landing gear components. You will prepare parts, apply heat treatment or shot peening, and conduct hardness and tensile tests while ensuring QA documentation and continuous safety improvements.

The role requires metallurgy education or proven metallurgy experience, basic computer skills, and strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Prepare and assemble parts.

Complete the appropriate quality assurance documentation.
Contribute to continuous improvement of safety, quality, cost and on-time delivery.

Safran Landing Systems is a subsidiary of Safran Landing Systems, a world leader in landing and braking systems for aircraft. The Mirabel plant is dedicated to the manufacturing of major components for landing gear for Airbus A320, A330, and A350 models, as well as the Boeing 787. It features state-of-the-art equipment for machining, polishing, and special processes, including heat treatment, shot peening, and surface treatments.

You will perform various operations related to metallurgical processes on landing gear components.

More Specifically, You Will Be Required To

prepare and assemble parts,
perform heat treatment or shot peening operations,
conduct laboratory tests (hardness, tensile, saturation),
carry out inspections using non-destructive testing (magnetic particle testing)
detect and resolve technical issues,
perform visual inspections to ensure compliance with specifications,
complete the appropriate quality assurance documentation,
contribute to the continuous improvement of operations and the achievement of safety, quality, cost, and on-time delivery objectives.

Night shift, Monday to Friday from 12:10 AM to 6:40 AM

Note: Depending on the collective agreement rules, the position may change shifts (evening, night, or weekend)

The salary for this position starts between $31.18 and $45.12 per hour, depending on your skills, experience, and qualifications. With internal training and your progression in acquiring job‑related skills, the hourly wage will increase up to a maximum of $48.97.
$1.00/hr bonus
