Job summary

Safran Landing Systems in Mirabel is hiring a maintenance technician for the evening shift to repair and troubleshoot a range of production equipment including CNC tools, ovens, and robots.

You will diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic issues, perform preventive maintenance, and update documentation in the CMMS. The role emphasizes data-driven problem solving and collaboration in a high-standards manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• DEP or DEC in related field required.
• 3 years of experience in maintenance of production equipment (electronics, electricity, pneumatics, mechanics, hydraulics).
• Experience with programmed logic controllers and AC motor control.

Responsibilities

• Repair of production equipment (CNC tools, shot blasters, ovens, plating, robots).
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic failures.
• Perform preventive maintenance and periodic revisions.
• Work in corrective, preventive, conditional, and predictive modes.
• Analyze data, identify recurring failures, and contribute to action plans.
• Improve equipment and implement new technologies.
• Occasionally manage project investments.
• Modify PLCs and CNC systems.
• Document management in CMMS.

Safran Landing Systems is a subsidiary of Safran Landing Systems, a world leader in landing and braking systems for aircraft. The Mirabel plant is dedicated to manufacturing major components of landing gear for Airbus A320, A330, and A350 models, as well as the Boeing 787. It features state-of-the-art equipment for machining, polishing, and special processes, including heat treatment, shot blasting, and surface treatments.

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Repair of various production equipment (CNC machine tools, shot blasters, ovens, plating, robots, etc.)
• Diagnose and perform necessary troubleshooting (including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic failures).
• Regular maintenance and periodic revisions to prevent breakdowns.
• Work in corrective, preventive, conditional, and predictive modes
• Problem-solving based on data analysis, analysis of recurring failures, and participation in establishing the action plan.
• Equipment improvement and implementation of new technologies
• Project investment management (occasionally)
• Modification of PLCs, CNC systems
• Documentation management in the CMMS system

We work in corrective, preventive, and predictive modes. For us, the use of data is a powerful problem-solving tool, and documentation management in the CMMS is essential.

Technical skills

• DEP in electromechanics of automated systems or a DEC in electrotechnics or automated systems or instrumentation and control
• 3 years of experience in maintenance of production equipment (including electronics, electricity, pneumatics, mechanics, and hydraulics)
• Experience with programmable logic controllers
• Experience with AC motor control
• Ability to read mechanical, electrical, and electronic plans
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of PLC programming and software such as Step 7
• Knowledge of Allen Bradley, Siemens, Siemens 840D systems, qualification in device connection, License C in electricity is an asset
• Knowledge of Kuka robotics is an asset
