Ontario Northland Transportation Commission (ONTC) seeks an Engine Attendant (Replacement) in North Bay. The role covers cleaning and operating railway equipment within the Rail Mechanical department, with shifts including weekends.

Base pay is hourly CA$18.60–CA$20.10, with increases per the collective agreement and full rate after one year of service. We offer a competitive benefits package, pension, paid vacation, personal leave days, and discounted transportation for ONTC services.

RATE OF PAY: $27.77 - $30.88/hour (Increases set out as per the collective agreement.

Full rate effective after 1 year of service)

MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES: Cleaning/washing of railway equipment, coaches, parts and shop facilities. Operating locomotives, track mobiles and forklifts, turning switches, fueling, sanding and watering locomotives. Adapts to new methods, processes, material and equipment. Follows prescribed safety procedures including the use of safety clothing and equipment. May work various shifts including weekends and some work outdoors in adverse weather. Performs other related duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Secondary School Diploma or possess a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) Ability to pass the examination for Engine Attendants Good interpersonal and communication skills (oral & written) Excellent organizational and planning skills Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
