Job summary

Turner Construction Vancouver seeks a full-time MEP Estimator to prepare detailed estimates for Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Electrical, Technology, and LV systems. The role reports to the MEP Manager and Preconstruction Manager, with site/on-site head office work 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities include bid development, subcontractor coordination, and value analysis while leveraging strong communication and leadership skills. Proficiency with MS Office is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering plus a minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years related Mechanical/Plumbing/Fire Protection/Electrical/Technology//LV system estimating experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
• Proven written and verbal communication abilities; proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Delivering projects using CCA5a, CCA5b, CCDC2, CCDC3, and CCDC14 Prime Contracts.
• PQS designation from the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors is an asset.
• Gold Seal Certification for the Canadian Construction Association is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Attend site walks and pre-bid meetings as necessary for project pursuits.
• Develops win strategies for bid and proposal submissions.
• Establish and maintain key relationships with M&E subcontractors to ascertain the strategic advantages for Turner Construction.
• Takes the lead in the development of a Conceptual estimate/GMP/ Lump sum/ Design-build bid submission and coordinates tender development for clients.
• Prepare bid recording sheets and scope requisitions for bidding/procurement of MEP systems.
