Job summary

In-Home Assisted Living Inc. (IHAL) is looking for dedicated Mental Health Support Workers in Kingston, ON. You'll assist clients with daily living activities, medication reminders, and provide companionship and emotional support.

In-Home Assisted Living Inc. (IHAL) is seeking dedicated, caring, and reliable Mental Health Support Workers Caregivers to support our clients in the comfort of their homes. If you are passionate about delivering high-quality, client-centred care, we would love to hear from you.

What You Should Know

Location: Kingston, ON (client homes). Shift: 12 hour shifts, both day and nights available.

What You’ll Do

Personal Support & Daily Care

• Long term commitment providing care and services to a client with multiple complex needs
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
• Support mobility, walking, and safe transfers (bed, chair, wheelchair)

Home Support

• Perform light housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe environment
• Prepare and serve meals based on client preferences and dietary needs

Health & Safety Assistance

• Provide medication reminders and help monitor daily routines
• Complete daily care reports and communicate observations to the Case Manager or healthcare team

Companionship & Emotional Support

• Engage clients in meaningful conversation and provide reassurance
• Promote comfort, dignity, independence, and well-being

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 1 year of caregiving or mental health support worker experience
• Training in Gentle Persuasive Approaches (GPA) or Non-Violent Crisis Prevention preferred
• CPR/First Aid Certification required
• Ability to use a mobile phone for documentation and time tracking
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Second language is an asset
• Reliable, compassionate, and able to respond calmly to unexpected situations
