Job summary

Fraser Health is seeking a Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse to provide treatment and care management for individuals with mental illness and concurrent disorders. You will collaborate with an interprofessional care team to deliver person-centered, recovery-oriented care in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities include coordinating care, administering medications, crisis intervention, and educating clients and families.

Qualifications

• Graduation from approved School of Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing.
• Two years recent related experience providing mental health services.
• May require completion of substance use certificate program.
• May require BC Provincial Opiate Addiction Treatment Support Program course.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate care with the interprofessional team, conduct mental health assessments, develop and adjust treatment plans.
• Provide direct nursing care, review history, perform assessments, monitor vital signs and administer medications.
• Use motivational interviewing to engage clients and develop individualized care plans.
• Establish therapeutic relationships and support clients to manage self-care and informed decisions.
• Provide crisis intervention, counseling and education to clients and families.
