Job summary

Saskatchewan Government and General Employees' Union (SGEU) is hiring in Regina for a full-time role up to 24 months within a collaborative labor relations environment.

The position requires a post-secondary degree in a related field, strong knowledge of union laws and CBA interpretation, and proven communication and MS Office skills. Eligible candidates must be able to work in Canada and support grievance processes.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in Labour Relations, Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Human Justice or Social Work with related experience.
• Thorough understanding of Saskatchewan Employment Act and Saskatchewan Human Rights Code.
• Strong knowledge of Collective Bargaining Agreement rules of interpretation.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, demonstrated in grievance processes.
• Experience using Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
• Proven ability to provide service-oriented support with professional, empathetic communication.

WHO YOU ARE

• A post-secondary degree in a related field such as Labour Relations, Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Human Justice or Social Work, combined with experience in conflict resolution, advocacy and/or elected roles, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
• Thorough understanding of a unions legal framework and environment, including statutes such as the Saskatchewan Employment Act and The Saskatchewan Human Rights Code;
• Thorough understanding of Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) rules of interpretation;
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, typically demonstrated by preparing communication to support grievance processes;
• Experience working in an automated office environment using most features of Microsoft Office 365 such as: Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and TEAMS;
