Job summary

BioTalent Canada seeks a Manager, Technology & Venture Development to lead the UTEST program with the University of Toronto and to evaluate and advance early-stage medtech and digital health ventures. You will work hands-on with founders and researchers to shape product strategies, commercialization plans and investment narratives.

Qualifications

• Post‑graduate degree or equivalent technical training in biomedical engineering, engineering, life sciences, computer science, health informatics or related field; an advanced degree preferred.
• MBA or other relevant business education, training or demonstrated commercial experience is an asset.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in medtech, digital health, venture investing, technology commercialization, product development, entrepreneurship or company creation.
• Demonstrated experience evaluating or advancing medical-device and/or digital-health products from early development toward milestones.
• Strong project-management, analytical, financial-analysis and modeling skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead UTEST program delivery and University of Toronto partnership, ensuring smooth operations and reporting.
• Assess early-stage medtech/digital health opportunities for feasibility, market potential and value inflection milestones.
• Drive venture creation and company-building activities from product definition to financing and governance.
• Develop relationships with investigators, founders, investors, strategics and ecosystem partners.
