Job summary

Nova Scotia Health Authority in Western Zone, Queens General Hospital, seeks a Medical Laboratory Technologist to perform analytical tests in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. You will operate computer-integrated instruments and use information systems, with judgement on reportability in routine and emergency situations.

Requirements include graduation from an MLT program, active NSRMLS licensure, and completion of the MLT exam in all five disciplines.

Qualifications

• Must be graduate from a recognized Medical Laboratory Technologist program or equivalent.
• Active licensure with Nova Scotia Regulator of Medical Laboratory Sciences (NSRMLS).
• Completion of the Medical Laboratory Technologist Examination in all five disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical tests and procedures using established protocols.
• Operate computer-integrated instruments and networked information systems.
• Exercise independent judgement in reportability of results, including emergency situations.
