Job summary

Alberta Health Services (AHS) seeks a Medical Laboratory Technologist I for the Airdrie Health Centre. This 0.70 FTE position involves night shifts on a rotating 7-night cycle, performing daily processing, testing, and reporting of diagnostic samples in the laboratory.

The role requires an accredited MLT program completion and active/eligible CMLTA registration, with experience in hematology and chemistry. A satisfactory RC/VS screening is required.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program.
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
• Proven ability to work within a computer-based environment using Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint and OneDrive.
• Experience in core laboratory theory including hematology, chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, and transfusion medicine dispense.
• Experience in reading manual differentials.
• Current experience in Hematology and Chemistry within the last 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Daily processing, testing, results analysis and reporting of diagnostic samples within the laboratory department.
• Perform a variety of routine and specialized procedures in the processing of specimens used in diagnosis, treatment and research.
