A leading health authority is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant to perform laboratory procedures and clerical duties. The role involves blood collection, sample preparation, and conducting tests like ECGs. Candidates should have Grade 12 education and relevant training.

Reporting to the Team Leader, Chief Technologist, or designate, the Medical Laboratory Assistant performs laboratory procedures and related clerical duties. Responsibilities include blood and specimen collection, preparing samples for analysis, distributing and storing samples, performing laboratory tests such as urinalysis using colour-coded dipsticks, and conducting Electro Cardiogram (ECG) testing as required.
Travel may be required for this position. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of the Vancouver Island Health Authority in accordance with the service assignment.
