A leading healthcare organization is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant to enhance patient care through high-quality laboratory services. Responsibilities include blood collection, sample preparation, and conducting laboratory tests. Ideal candidates will have a Grade 12 education, relevant training, and strong communication skills.

The Department of Laboratory Medicine, Pathology and Medical Genetics (LMPMG) is dedicated to enhancing patient care through high-quality laboratory services.
Reporting to the Team Leader, Chief Technologist, or designate, the Medical Laboratory Assistant performs laboratory procedures and clerical duties. Responsibilities include blood and specimen collection, sample preparation for analysis, sample distribution and storage, conducting laboratory tests such as urinalysis with colour-coded dipsticks, and performing Electro Cardiogram (ECG) testing as required.
Travel may be required for this position. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational needs of Vancouver Island Health Authority in accordance with the service assignment.
