Job summary

Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL) is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant I to support the Red Deer Regional Hospital. You will perform procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens in a safe, accurate and timely manner.

Requirements include an accredited MLA program and recent acute care phlebotomy experience; English proficiency; TDG/WHMIS certificates and Connect Care experience are assets.

Qualifications

Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
Recent acute care phlebotomy experience within the last 1 year.
Proficient in the English language.

Responsibilities

Provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner.
Procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.
